I was born in Brooks and live here now, after living in British Columbia and California and traveling. I have studied art in Banff, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer, and Los Angeles, California.
My Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts is from University of Lethbridge, 1991, where I studied art history, printmaking, drawing, painting, mixed media, computer art and ceramics. Photography is also an interest of mine from darkroom practices with Sam Alberts of One Tree in the 1960’s to the inclusion of Bryce Canyon Suite (Utah) at Bank of Montreal, Brooks Branch. Also, my painting, Diagonal Sunrise, is on display at ATB in Duchess, Alberta.
My specialties are printmaking (monoprint, linoleum and woodcut print, lithography,) portraits, figure studies and landscapes. I work at home and taught introductory children’s art at Bowman Arts Centre in Lethbridge before I had a stroke in 2000 from which I have recovered.
Several solo shows and group shows have been held at various locations: Medicine Hat College, Brooks Campus, University of Lethbridge graduate show, 1991, Red Roof Studio, Steaming Cup, Brooks Public Library,, original Nova Scotia Bank, Brooks, Douglas Country Inn, and Heritage Inn Juried Show of Sagebrush Arts Society. (2011) I am an original member of Sagebrush Arts Society and have belonged to the Brooks and District Handicraft Guild until this year.
